Playing the world’s wildest golf course is on a lot of golfers’ bucket lists. Skukuza Golf Course is set in the middle of the Kruger National Park in South Africa and easily holds the title of the wildest golf course in the world!
There have been some dangerous situations at the golf course such as in 2014 when a golfer was killed by a crocodile when retrieving his ball from the water hazard and more recently when a Skukuza staff member was attacked by a leopard!
On the 26th of June 2022 one of the Skukuza staff members was the unfortunate victim of a leopard attack. He was attacked while he was outside his abode at the South African National Parks Staff Living Quarters. The staff member is set to make a full recovery although his injuries sustained were serious.
The course is situated on the outskirts of the Skukuza rest camp therefore the course is obviously rich in wildlife. The wildlife sanctuary surrounding the golf course is home to the big 5, a large variety of birds and countless animals which provides the golfer with a close to nature golfing experience.

Skukuza golf course was built in 1972 as a recreational facility for the Skukuza personnel, and has now been opened to visitors to the Kruger National Park for the first time.
The golf course is a 9-hole (18-tee) golf course situated in the Kruger National Park. It’s a Par 72 course , and is 5950m (6450 yards) for men and 5059m (5480 yards) for women.
